How To Choose Two Columns In Kindle For Mac

  • Amazon has updated its Kindle app for iOS yet again. The free, universal e-reading app now offers a two-column view when you’re using it in landscape mode on an iPad, making the horizontal.
  • Within a moment or two an extra column, On Device, as seen in the screenshot above, will appear. If your device does not appear, check out this trouble shooting guide here. If the ebook is already in a format supported by your device (such as MOBI for the Kindle) you can simply right click on the book entry, select Send to Device and Main.

With OverDrive Read, you can read borrowed ebooks and magazines right in your web browser with a single click. There are no downloads or software required; all you need is a compatible web browser.

I arrange the columns as I want them on Inbox, right-click the column headings and select 'Make this the Default View'. Then I select each folder (sheesh!), right click the column headings and select 'Restore to Defaults'. But this only affects my custom folders. The special folders are unaffected.

The basics
  • Click or tap the right or left edges of the ebook or magazine to turn the pages.
  • Click or tap and hold a word to define it, make a note, or highlight some text.
  • On larger screens, click or tap the bookmark icon to save a bookmark.
  • On smaller screens, tap the top-right corner of the screen to save a bookmark.
  • Click or tap the middle of the screen to bring up the seek bar, which you can use to move backward or forward in the ebook or magazine. You'll also see chapter breaks, bookmarks, and highlights here.
  • On a larger screen, use the display buttons at the top of the screen to switch between a one-page and two-page display. On a tablet or phone in landscape orientation, tap the middle of the screen first, then use the display buttons.
The menu

You'll find the menu icon in the top-right corner of the reader.

(On a mobile device, tap the middle of the screen to bring up the menu icon.)

In the menu, you'll find:

  • Search: Look for a word or phrase in the text.
  • Chapters: Browse the ebook or magazine's table of contents and quickly jump to chapters or sections.
  • Bookmarks: View the bookmarks, notes, and highlights you've placed in the ebook or magazine. Click one to return to that part of the text.
  • Reading Settings: Adjust the ebook's text size, lighting, and font (available for most ebooks).
  • Tips & Secrets: Find advanced tips and tricks for using OverDrive Read.

In a read-along ebook, you'll also see:

  • Narration: Start playback or adjust the volume and playback speed.
Reading settings

In many OverDrive Read ebooks, you can adjust the reading settings to change how the ebook looks.

Note: Reading settings for fixed-layout magazines and ebooks (like graphic novels or picture books) can't be changed, because the publisher decides exactly how each page looks. Learn more about fixed-layout titles here.

Reading settings include:

  • Text scale: Use the slider to adjust the size of the text in the ebook. For a wider range of text sizes, toggle Include accessibility sizes on.
  • Lighting: Choose bright (black text on a white background), sepia (dark red text on a tan background), or dark (white text on a black background).
  • Book design: Choose a preset design you like, or select Custom to change the font, justification, line spacing, and text weight.

You can use Advanced Filter feature with AND and OR operators to create complex filtering combos.

Let us apply AND and OR operators on this example one by one.

Filter Multiple Columns With Multiple Criteria

For using the Advanced Filter feature we need 2 things:

  1. List Range
  2. Criteria Range

1. Advanced Filter with AND operator

Copy the headings of the data either to another area on the same sheet or onto a different sheet.

Suppose we want to know the products that have a price range of Rs. 50 or more and have 250 or more kilograms in stock. Filtering the data here requires satisfying both the criteria.
