2.30.0 Release Notes (2020-12-27)
  • Using Git on the Command Line. Open the command line ('Terminal' on the Mac, 'Git Bash' on Windows) and change into your project's base directory. There, you can create a new Git repository: $ cd projects/my-project $ git init As a first step, you can add all of your current files to the repository and then bundle these in a commit.
  • Download Git Extensions for free. Git Extensions is a standalone UI tool for managing git repositories. Download latest version (Windows only): https://github.
  • I've changed the path to the new path in.bashprofile (/usr/local/git/bin) and now get git version 1.7.7.5 (Apple Git-26). This still appears to be the wrong version (although this could be me being dense). I downloaded the installer for OSX from the above link. Should I be doing something else.
